Green pool cleanup

Green pool? Let’s get it clear again.

Send us a photo and we’ll tell you what we see and what it will take — with a free water test — then keep it sparkling with weekly service.

Sound familiar?

Signs your pool needs a recovery.

  • Water with a green, yellow or brown tint
  • Cloudy or milky water you can’t see the bottom through
  • Slippery or slimy walls, steps or tile line
  • Dark spots or patches that come back after brushing
  • A pool that sat unused after a move, a trip or a stretch of bad weather

In Florida’s heat, a pool can turn in days: low or unbalanced sanitizer, a stalled pump, heavy rain or a stretch without service is all it takes. A home that sat empty before you moved in is another common cause. The good news is that most pools can be brought back.

Please stay out until it’s treated

Green water means the sanitizer isn’t doing its job, and cloudy water can hide things you can’t see. We’ll tell you when it’s safe again.

Please don’t drain it

In Florida a high water table can push an empty pool out of the ground and damage it. Send us a photo first and let us look at the options.

How we clear it

From green to clear, step by step.

  1. 01

    Look and test

Send us a photo with your request. We review it and run a free water test so we know exactly what we’re dealing with.

  2. 02

    Remove and brush

Debris comes out and the surfaces get a thorough brushing so the treatment can actually reach the algae.

  3. 03

    Treat and filter

We treat the water as the test calls for and keep the pump and filter working hard — cleaning the filter when it needs it.

  4. 04

    Rebalance and retest

Once it clears we rebalance the chemistry and retest, so the pool is not just clear but safe and stable.

  5. 05

    Keep it clear

Move straight into weekly service so it doesn’t happen again. New weekly customers get the first month for $89.

Cost and timing

An honest estimate, before we start.

Every green pool is different, so we don’t quote blind. Send a photo and we’ll tell you what we see, what it will take and roughly how long — then confirm it with a free water test. You approve the price before any work begins.

Next step

Send us a photo of your pool.

It takes about a minute, and photos help us give you an accurate estimate.

Send a Photo for a Quote

Green pool cleanups are quoted individually. Weekly service afterward starts at $89 for the first month for new customers.

FAQ

Green pool questions, answered

Don’t see your question? Send us a message — we’re happy to help.

How long does it take to clear a green pool?

It depends on how far the pool has gone. Lightly cloudy water can often turn around in a couple of days, while a fully green pool or one with black spots can take a week or more. We give you an honest estimate after we see photos and test the water.

Is it safe to swim in a green or cloudy pool?

We recommend staying out until the water has been treated and tested. Green water means the sanitizer isn’t doing its job, and cloudy water can hide things you can’t see. We’ll tell you when the water is safe to use again.

Do I need to drain my pool to fix it?

Almost never. In Florida, draining a pool can be risky: a high water table can push an empty pool out of the ground and damage it. Please don’t drain it — send us a photo first and let us look at the options.

Why did my pool turn green?

Usually it’s low or unbalanced sanitizer combined with Florida heat, a stalled pump or filter, heavy rain, or a stretch without service. A home that sat empty, or a pool left untouched after a move, is a common cause.

What happens after the pool is clear?

You can move straight into weekly service so it stays that way. New weekly customers get the first month for $89, and there’s no contract.

How much does pool service cost?

New customers pay just $89 for the first month of weekly service, and that includes a free water test. After the first month, your weekly price is set by your pool’s size, enclosure, equipment and needs — and we tell you exactly what it will be before you agree to anything. There is no contract, so you can cancel anytime.
